Starwood announced that the Westin Hilton Head Island Resort & Spa on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, completed an extensive $30 million renovation.  Changes were made to the hotel’s landscape, lobby, rooms, restaurants and lounges, fitness complex, and pools.

The hotel’s landscape was enhanced with eco-friendly flora, including live oaks, palmetto trees, and native flowers.  In addition, a botanical conservatory was also added to the hotel’s premises.

The lobby of the hotel has check-in pods that replaced the front desk.  There is also a two-story, oxygen-producing vertical garden of mounted wall planters, as well as an artistic feature wall and comfort zone for sitting.

The hotel’s 416 rooms now have soft, coastal-inspired color palettes with southern elements.  Each room is outfitted with Westin Heavenly beds, 42-inch flat screen TVs, and iPod docking stations.

View 32, a new outdoor ocean-view bar, was added to the premises, and the remainder of the hotel’s five restaurants and lounges received enhancements as well.

The hotel now also has a new fitness studio, and the property’s three pools were refinished to include new resort decking, private cabanas, furniture and lounge chairs, fire pits, and fountains.  The more than 37,000 square feet (3,437 square meters) of indoor and outdoor meeting and event space was also updated.
