Star Alliance welcomes EVA Air

EVA Air joined Star Alliance on June 18, 2013.  The airline is the alliance’s eighth member in the Asia Pacific region.

Members of EVA Air Infinity MileageLands frequent flyer program will be able to earn and redeem miles on all Star Alliance member carrier flights.  Diamond and Gold Card holders will be entitled to Star Alliance Gold Status, which allows passengers to access over 1,000 lounges across the world, extra baggage allowance, and priority baggage delivery.

The airline is now also included in the Asia Airpass, along with all other Asian Star Alliance members.  Asia Airpass is a special mileage based fare for overseas passengers traveling to the Asia Pacific region on a Star Alliance airline.

Star Alliance was founded in 1997.  Currently, 19 Star Alliance member airlines operate over 4,000 daily flights to and from the Asia Pacific region.

Star Alliance has 28 member carriers.  Combined, the members operate over 21,100 departures daily.
