Lincoln Center announced the schedule for its summer program, Out of Doors.

Out of Doors is a series of free concerts, talks, lectures, and dance lessons that take place between Broadway and Amsterdam Avenues, from West 62nd Street to West 65th Street.

The program’s opening week is called Kronos at 40, featuring 28 concerts, 12 premiers and five Lincoln Center commissions spanning from July 24 through 28. Highlights include the Kronos Quartet, Red Hot + Fela Live!, Tony Allen, and Superhuman Happiness and more.

Week two features talks and multimedia presentations on Brazilian culture by Scott Kettner and Jason Gardner on Tuesday, July 30.

Later that week, on Saturday, August 3, ZviDance performs Dabke in Damrosch Park and will offer free dance lessons before the show.

Week three, from August 9 – 11, will feature performances by Amanda Palmer & the Grand Theft Orchestra, Rockin’ Rockabilly Revue and an interview of New Orleans’ legendary Allen Toussaint by singer-songwriter Nona Hendryx.

For 42 years, Lincoln Center has commissioned more than 100 works from composers and choreographers and presented hundreds of major dance companies, world-music artists, and legendary musicians from all genres for the Out of Doors program. All events are free and open to the public.
