American Awarded New Los Angeles-São Paulo Route

DSC_0588American Airlines announced it was awarded a new route between Los Angeles and São Paulo, Brazil, by the U.S. Department of Transportation.  The service is pending government approval.

Currently, American serves Brazil from Miami, New York, and Dallas/Fort Worth.  It offers over 800 flights weekly to 49 cities throughout Latin America.

The airline hopes to be granted approval to fly from Chicago to São Paulo by fall of 2014.

American recently started service between New York and Dublin, Ireland.
