Mandarin Oriental to Open New Hotel in Istanbul
The Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group announced it will open a hotel in Istanbul, Turkey, in 2016. The Mandarin Oriental Bosphorus, Istanbul will have a waterfront location on the Bosphorus, or the Istanbul Strait, in Beşiktaş, one of Istanbul’s oldest neighborhoods.
The property will have around 130 guestrooms and suites (room plans aren’t completely finalized at this time. It will also have a number of restaurants and bars, and several will have al fresco waterside dining. The property will also have meeting rooms, banquet facilities, and a large ballroom.
The new hotel will have the group’s signature Spa at Mandarin Oriental, which, in addition to massages, will offer beauty treatments. Other facilities will include a tea lounge, indoor pool, meditation room, and fitness center.
Istanbul is the financial and commercial center of Turkey. The Bosphorus, or Istanbul Strait, separates Europe from Asia.
