JetBlue Airways announced it will begin new service between Port-au-Prince, Haiti and both New York and Fort Lauderdale on December 5 of this year.  Both flights will be nonstop, with service to New York being offered once daily, and service to Fort Lauderdale being offered twice daily.

Service between New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport and Port-au-Prince’s Toussaint Louverture International Airport will be operated using Airbus A320 aircraft.  The aircraft has seating for 150 passengers, with 42 seats in Even More Space, and 108 seats in coach.

The airline’s service between Fort Lauderdale and Port-au-Prince will be operated using Embraer 190 aircraft.  Each aircraft has 16 seats in Even More Class, and 84 seats in coach.

The new flights are subject to government approval.  Port-au-Prince will be JetBlue’s 82nd destination.
