Delta Air Lines and Brazilian carrier GOL Linhas Aereas Inteligentes announced the expansion of their partnership.  Starting immediately, GOL will codeshare with Delta on the latter’s flights from Brasilia to Atlanta.

The Brazilian airline will sell Delta tickets for flights between the two cities through its website and call centers.  In the coming months, all Delta flights between Brazil and the U.S. will be included in the codeshare.

The two airlines last strengthened their partnership in 2011, when Delta invested $100 million in GOL.  The deal provided passengers with benefits including frequent flyer awards, and reciprocal recognition of elite status.

The two airlines combined offer fly to roughly 380 destinations in over 62 countries.
