Frankfurt Airport Summer Schedule to Go Into Effect This Weekend

The Frankfurt Airport Summer Timetable 2013 will go into effect Sunday, March 31, 2013.  The new schedule will include several new destinations and flights.

In Asia, Air China will add a new service to Chengdu, which will begin on May 19 and operate three times a week.  In addition, Lufthansa will increase its service to Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, from four to five flights per week.

European flights changes include Lufthansa raising frequencies between Frankfurt and Munich from 98 to 105 per week.  Spanish carrier Vueling will also offer service between Frankfurt and Barcelona 12 times a week, while BMI Regional, a British airline, will offer 11 flights per week between Frankfurt and Bristol.

In Central and Eastern Europe, Croatia Airlines will begin offering service to Pula, Croatia twice a week, while UTair, a Russian airline, will launch weekly service between Frankfurt and Rostov-on-Don in Russia beginning in June.  Additionally, LOT Polish Airlines will increase its service to Krakau from seven to 13 flights a week, as well as increase its Frankfurt-Warsaw service from 21 to 28 per week.  Lufthansa will also increase its services to Nizhni Novgorod and Samara in Russia, as well as to the Estonian city of Tallinn.

The number of departures per week for passenger airlines will drop by 1.3% compared to the airport’s summer schedule last year, although the average number of seats available per aircraft will increase to over 170.  For cargo flights, the total number of departures per week will also drop by 1.3%.
