Boeing delivered its 7,500th 737 aircraft, a 737-900ER.  The plane was delivered to Malaysia-based Malindo Air.

The airline’s 737-900ER includes Boeing Sky Interior, featuring new sidewalls, windows, and LED lighting.  There are also larger overhead bins.

The Boeing 737 is the best-selling commercial jetliner in the world.  Orders for the 737 currently exceed 10,500.   On Tuesday, Ryanair placed an order for 173 Boeing 737s

Malindo Air is a joint venture by Indonesia’s Lion Air and Malaysia’s National Aerospace and Defense Industries.  Its name comes from the first few letters of the names of both countries.   The airline will use the 737-900ER to launch its low-fare service, which is slated to begin on May 1, 2013.
