American's new Award Map

American’s new Award Map

American Airlines introduced Award Map, a new way for AAdvantage members to find travel awards.  The tool uses a real-time interactive map of the airline’s network to show members available award tickets and destinations based on the number of miles they have and wish to redeem.

To use Award Map, AAdvantage members enter the number of miles they want to use and the type of destination they are interested in.  Other search criteria include preferred dates, number of travelers, and cabin preference.

Once criteria have been entered, Award Map displays the available reward tickets on the interactive map.  A video demonstration for the new tool can be found on American Airlines’ YouTube channel.

The new tool is a product of American Airlines Development Program for Technology (ADEPT), a college recruiting program.  AAdvantage members can find and use Awards Map on the airline’s website.
