The Sheraton New York Times Square announced that renovations of its meeting space will be finished on March 1, 2013.  Started in January of this year, the $20 million renovations are the final phase of a $180 million renovation of the entire hotel.

The hotel’s 60,000 square feet (5,574 meters) of meeting and event space will be redesigned with the idea of modern New York in mind.  The space will be outfitted with colors and designs that emphasize light, geometric patterns, and warm tones, with changes made to the lighting and fixtures as well.

Facilities included in the renovation are the hotel’s 43 meeting rooms, and an executive conference center.  There are also two ballrooms included in the renovation, the 13,768 square foot (1,279 square meter) Metropolitan Ballroom, and the 8,715 square foot (809 square meter) New York Ballroom, which will both be installed with large-scale chandeliers.

In celebration of the renovations, the hotel is offering special deals for meeting and events booked by March 31 and held by December 31, 2013.  Groups who meet these criteria will receive a Starpoints signing bonus, 1,000 Starpoints per 10 room nights, and 2% off master-billed room revenue.
