Hotel Ballard to Open in Seattle
A new hotel, the Hotel Ballard, will open in Seattle in May of this year. The hotel is named for the Northwestern Seattle neighborhood in which it is located.
The four-story hotel will have 29 guestrooms and suites, which will vary in size from 400 to 600 square feet (37 to 55 square meters). The rooms, designed to pay homage to the area’s Scandinavian heritage, will have a décor featuring charcoal walls and soft cream accents, with headboards accented by gold wall panels; the bathrooms will have warm tile and metallic wallpaper and soaking tubs.
Each room will have a king-size bed, high-definition plasma screen TVs, and complimentary Wi-Fi Internet access. Other amenities include 24-hour room service, a rooftop pavilion with great views of the city and the Olympic Mountains, 24-hour access to the Olympic Athletic Club, and Stoneburner, the hotel’s street-level restaurant.
The hotel’s lobby will feature natural materials including brick, wood, and travertine, centered around a late nineteenth century oil painting. Guests have direct access to the adjacent Olympic Athletic Club and the hotel’s underground garage has a capacity of 60 cars.
