Delta Upgrades BusinessElite and Economy Comfort Transcon Amenities, Moves Flights to Terminal 4

Delta Air Lines announced changes and improvements to its transcon service for flights between New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport and Los Angeles and San Francisco.  The changes will also be in effect on Delta’s forthcoming New York-Seattle flights.

Starting in May, all transcon flights will depart from Delta’s new international terminal (Terminal 4) at JFK.   The airline will also offer all passengers Starbucks coffee during the flight.

Business-class passengers will be offered sparkling wine and copies of the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and USA Today.  Later in the year, Delta will offer an express meal option that will give BusinessElite passengers more time to either work or relax during the flight.

Passengers in Delta’s premium economy section, Economy Comfort, will receive complimentary headsets as well as complimentary beer, wine, alcoholic beverages, and snacks during the flight.  Starting this summer, passengers in Economy Comfort will also get complimentary movies and on-demand TV shows including recently-released movies and selections from HBO.

Economy-class passengers will have access to expanded movie and on-demand TV show selections, with 100 movies to choose from.  The airline will offer healthier as well as kid-friendly food for purchase and is adding 375 ml bottles of Hess Select Chardonnay and Meiomi by Belle Glos Pinot Noir wines to the selection of drinks available for purchase in economy.

In November 2012, Delta announced that it will introduce lie-flat seats in the BusinessElite cabin its Boeing 757 and 767 aircraft that serve these routes.  The new seats will be phased in over the next two years, starting in March 2013.
