DSC_0295Travelers who don’t feel like schlepping their bags to their hotel or all the way home now have a solution.  United Airlines announced a baggage delivery service that will offer passengers the option of having checked bags delivered directly to their home, office, or hotel, provided the delivery address is within 100 miles of their arrival airport.

The service will be offered in Boston, Chicago, Honolulu, Houston, Los Angeles, and Orlando.  More cities are expected to come online throughout 2013.  Passengers can depart from any domestic airport served by United.

The service costs $29.95 for one bag delivered within a 40-mile radius of the airport; delivery beyond that distance is available at a higher cost.  The fee for two bags within 40 miles is $39.95, and for three to eight bags, the service costs $49.95.

Checked baggage fees will still apply.
