Omni Hotels Debuts New Simply Street Food Menu
Omni Hotels announced its new Simply Street Food menu, an extension of the hotelier’s “Flavors of the World” initiative. The new menu, which highlights the top street foods from Boston to Brazil, will be available at Omni Hotel bars and lounges throughout March of this year.
To create the menu, Omni partnered with the Global Hotel Alliance (GHA), Omni’s frequent guest program partner, to hold a competition that called for dishes that celebrated an authentic street food from a chef’s home region. Of the 160 entries that were submitted by chefs from 56 different countries, six dishes were selected to be a part of the new menu (three from Omni chefs, and three from GHA member chefs).
Chef Andy Oh of the Pan Pacific Orchard hotel in Singapore created the Famous Peddler’s Char Kway Teow, while Chef Gerard Tice from Boston’s Omni Parker House submitted the Short Rib and Vermont Cheddar Sandwich.
Other menu items include the Citrus Ancho Braised Lamb Tostado, created by Chef Scott Mole of the Omni Bedford Springs in Pennsylvania’s Cumberland Valley, and the Chicken Musakhan Sandwich, brought to the menu by Chef Moh’d Alla Alaham of the Emirates Palace Abu Dhabi. The Duck Empanada with Smoked Tomato Mayonnaise was created by Chef Gene Moss from the Omni La Mansion in San Antonio, Texas, and rounding out the Simply Street Food Menu is the Arcajéde Orixá, from Chef Josemar Passos of the Tivoli Ecoresort Praia do Forte in Bahia, Brazil.
