Kempinski Hotels has opened the Olare Mara Kempinski, Masai Mara Tented Camp in the Olare Orok Conservancy Masai Mara in Kenya.  Located an hour away from Nairobi by plane, the Masai Mara is a 580-square mile (1,502 square kilometer) game preserve, famous for its abundance of lions, and is bordered by Serengeti National Park to the South.

The tent camp is accessible by twice daily air transfer on Air Kenya or Safarilink from Nairobi and one daily flight from Mombasa.  It can hold a maximum of 24 guests at any time, and is situated on the banks of the Ntiakitiak River,

Each tent is furnished in the classic style of African safaris, with four poster or twin beds, indoor and outdoor showers with oversized tubs, and a teak deck spread over 861 square feet (80 square meters).  One of the tents has its own plunge pool, and there is also a main pool within the camp.

The camp is designed for adult travelers, offering activities such as game drives with safari guides, night safaris, Masia village visits, bush breakfast at the hippo pool, and early morning balloon safaris.  The camp also offers a daily set menu for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, or guests can schedule dinner in the bush while being kept watch over by Masai warriors.

The recommended itinerary calls for a three-night and four-day stay.  Packages start at $435 per night per person, and include air strip transfers, full board with beverages, and two game drives per day.
