New York’s Carlton Hotel has unveiled three new specialty suites and two newly-renovated penthouse suites.  Located in Midtown Manhattan, the hotel paid tribute to the city’s past when designing the three new suites, which are named The Broadway Diva Suite, The Speakeasy Suite, and The Terrace Suite.

The Broadway Diva Suite features mirrors, playbills, and over-the-top bedding, and is meant to evoke the feeling of a dressing room for a leading lady in a Broadway musical.

In The Speakeasy Suite, the décor, reminiscent of the 1920s era, includes a small bar, a poker table, dark wood paneling, and photographs of flappers and G-men.  The suite also includes a secret back room attached to the bedroom, accessed by a hidden handle on a door disguised as a bookcase .  Alcohol-infused mini cupcakes are also offered at turn-down.

The Terrace Suite features a living room with a grass cloth wall, ginkgo flower images, and a sofa with chaise lounge and throw pillow.  The private terrace offers views of the Empire State Building and includes an umbrella table for dining, a two-seat lounger, an outdoor rug, hanging plants, and overhead string lighting.

In addition to the three new specialty suites, there are also two newly-renovated penthouse suites, Carlton’s Corner Pocket and Carlton’s New Yorker Suite.  Carlton’s Corner Pocket includes 1,050 square feet, a restored 1950s Brunswick Centennial billiards table, and a 24-light, crystal-tiered chandelier.  There is also a mahogany bar and black leather Ralph Lauren club chair, as well as a 55” flat-screen TV.

Carlton’s New Yorker Suite features a 12-foot Chesterfield sofa, a set of Porter Chairs, and a 1960s Italian Art Deco console table.  There is also a white lacquer crocodile-embossed dining table, and the walls are decorated with framed New Yorker magazine covers from the 1920s through the present.  Both penthouse suites also include grand king-size beds, sunken Jacuzzi tubs, and glass enclosed showers.
