Hyatt to Open Andaz Tokyo in Summer 2014
Hyatt has announced that it will open the Andaz Tokyo in summer 2014. The hotel will be the first Andaz property in Japan, the fourth Hyatt-branded hotel in Tokyo, and the ninth Hyatt-branded hotel in Japan.
The hotel will occupy eight floors, including the top six, of a 52-story building in a multi-use complex. The building, now under construction, is located in Toranomon, a business and embassy district of the city. When completed, the structure will be the second tallest in the city, and will contain offices, residences, shops, and conference venues, along with the Andaz Tokyo.
The hotel will have 164 guestrooms, 16 of which will be suites. The rooms will be situated on floors 47 through 50 of the building with an average size of 167 square feet, with the largest suite being 721 square feet.
There will also be a 65 square foot indoor infinity pool, a fitness center, and spa located on the 37th floor of the building, which will be accessible to guests of the hotel as well as tower residents. On the 51st floor will be the Andaz Lounge, where guests can enjoy complimentary coffee or a glass of wine.
Also located the 51st floor will be an all-day restaurant, featuring fresh, seasonal, and organic menu items. The top floor, 52, will house an open-air bar and Andaz Studio, where a kitchen will offer made-to-order menus for weddings and other special gatherings.
As part of the brand’s Andaz Salon program, the hotel will collaborate with local artists, designer, musicians, and others to create events and programs with themes that are unique to the property’s location in central Tokyo. The program will seek to deliver talks, exhibitions, and live performances.
