American Airlines is expanding its presence in Latin America through new codeshare agreements with Sao Paulo-based TAM Airlines and Bogota-based LAN Colombia.  In addition, the airline plans to operate a new Dallas/Fort Worth-Bogota route, beginning in late 2013.

Under the codeshare agreements, American will offer its customers connections within Colombia and Brazil.  The partnership will also provide customers of TAM and LAN Colombia access to destinations in the United States, such as Boston, Chicago, Dallas/Fort Worth, Las Vegas, and Seattle.

American also announced plans for a new Dallas/Fort Worth-Bogota flight that will complement its existing service to Colombia through Miami.  The airline also plans to add service to Curitiba and Porto Alegre, Brazil, from Miami beginning in late 2013.
