Alaska Airlines and Aeromexico have announced a codeshare agreement. Under the agreement, customers of each airline will be able to travel between both of the airlines’ networks, as well as take advantage of each of their frequent flyer programs.

The agreement allows Aeromexico to place their code on 20 of Alaska Airlines’ flights. In addition, customers connecting between the two carriers will be able to check in with the originating airline, and check their baggage through to their final destination.

Along with these benefits, customers will also be able to accrue miles with either airline’s frequent flyer programs when they fly on codeshare flights. The changes from the codeshare agreement will go into effect in early 2013.
