Boeing announced the delivery of Qatar Airways’ first 787 Dreamliner.  The aircraft is the first of 30 787s that the airline has ordered.

Qatar Airways has announced that it will use the aircraft on flights to Dubai, London Heathrow, Delhi, and Zurich.  More cities will be added as more 787s join the airlines’ fleet.

Qatar Airways’ Dreamliners will feature 22 business-class seats in a 1-2-1 configuration. The business-class seats will convert into 80-inch long, 30-inch wide flat beds, and will also feature adjustable arm rests as well as new Android-powered in-flight entertainment systems, with 17-inch personal TV screens.

The new economy-class seats will be in a 3-3-3 configuration, with seven inches of recline, a 32-inch seat pitch, a 16.9-inch width, and 10.6-inch seat-back TV screens.

The new aircraft will offer in-flight Internet and mobile phone service, as well as power ports at every seat, in addition to USB and MP3 ports.

The 787 Dreamliner includes features such as improved lighting, larger windows and overhead bins, lower cabin altitude, and enhanced ventilation systems.  Qatar Airways’ first Dreamliner is its 32nd Boeing aircraft and the airline, which currently operates a fleet of 31 Boeing 777 passenger and cargo aircraft, has a total of 60 Dreamlines on order.
