JAL to Launch Non-Stop Dreamliner Service to San Diego
Japan Airlines will launch the first ever non-stop service between San Diego and Asia on December 2, 2012, with a San Diego-Tokyo route. In celebration of the new service, the airline will also be offering a special in-flight menu.
The new service will operate four times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, using a Boeing 787 Dreamliner. Beginning on March 1, 2013, JAL will increase the service to once daily. Tickets are now available for purchase.
To celebrate the launching of the new service, JAL will also be offering a limited-time, special in-flight menu, from December 2, 2012, until February 28, 2013. Customers traveling to San Diego in business class will find a menu that includes marinated prawn Cerviche, aspic-glazed roasted lamb with Mexican rice, and California Orange Chocolate Mousse, while those in economy class will be offered a beef stew with Caesar Salad.
Customers traveling to Tokyo in business class will be able to choose from Beef Wellington, seared lobster, and, for the second meal service, steamed rice in Japanese kelp tea. In economy class, customers flying from San Diego to Tokyo will be offered a Beef Bowl, an item from JAL’s Air Series menus.
