FotoDC Set to Begin This Week
FotoDC is scheduled to begin on November 9, 2012, and last until November 18. The festival caters to photography fans as well as professional and amateur photographers, and is supported by partners such as the Smithsonian Institution and National Geographic.
This year’s festival, which will take place near the National Portrait Gallery in Washington, D.C., will feature art, photojournalism, and photography, as well as new programming. There will also be lectures, exhibitions, workshops, seminars, portfolio reviews, receptions, photo book displays, and other special events.
Originally founded as FotoWeek DC in 2008, the festival initially drew 20,000 attendees. In 2011, it was rebranded as FotoDC, and now attracts over 40,000 participants and attendees each year. More information can be found at www.fotoweekdc.org.
