WestJet has announced that the name of its new regional airline will be WestJet Encore. The new airline will serve smaller Canadian communities, and will launch in the second half of 2013 with a fleet of Bombardier Q400 aircraft.
In early 2013, WestJet will announce a schedule for WestJet Encore, which will include the first group of communities the airline will serve.
Canada’s WestJet currently offers service to 81 destinations in North and Central America, as well as the Caribbean. Its fleet consists of 99 Boeing Next-Generation 737s, with deliveries for 36 more scheduled to be completed through 2018.
