Plantronics Launches Blackwire 700 Series USB/Bluetooth Headsets

Plantronics announced the Blackwire 700 series of corded headsets. The new hybrid USB/Bluetooth headsets allow users to be connected to a PC via USB, as well as simultaneously be connected to a mobile device via Bluetooth. If the user is attending an online meeting, and a mobile phone call comes in, the headset will switch over to the incoming call. Also, users can unplug the USB cord and leave their work area, and still have mobile calls routed to the headset.

The new headsets utilize the company’s Smart Sensor technology, which enables automatic music starting and pausing, as well as call routing when the headset is being worn.

The Blackwire 700s feature up to 10 hours of talk time, as well as a detachable cable and a clothing clip for mobile use. The cord has controls for answering and ending calls, as well as setting volume and engaging muting. Other features include noise-canceling technology and indicator lights to alert colleagues that the user in on a call.

The new headsets are available in two models. The Blackwire 710 is a single-ear headset, and retails for $129.95, and the Blackwire 720 is a dual-ear stereo headset that retails for $149.95.
