The Frankfurt Airport Winter Timetable 2012/2013 will go into effect Sunday, October 28, 2012. The schedule will include 264 destinations worldwide, 114 of which are intercontinental, including new routes to Asia.

The new Asian destinations of Siem Reap, Cambodia and Rangoon, Myanmar, will be serviced by Condor, a Frankfurt-based leisure carrier. In addition, the airline will also be adding Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and Cape Town, South Africa to its Frankfurt network.

Lufthansa will continue to offer its Chinese service to Qingdao via Shenyang that it introduced over the summer. The airline will also increase its flight frequencies on routes to Khartoum, Sudan; Addis Abeba, Ethiopia; Doha, Qatar; Dallas, Texas; Bogota, Columbia; Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; and Bahrain.

Frankfurt’s winter schedule will also see Poland’s LOT increase flight frequencies on its route from Frankfurt to Krakow. However, flights offered by the German airline Cirrus, the Hungarian airline Malév, and the Spanish airline Spanair in last year’s winter schedule have been dropped due to the airlines’ bankruptcies.

This year’s winter schedule will offer 11 fewer destinations than last year’s, although the number of countries linked to Frankfurt will increase from 111 to 113. The total number of departures per week for Frankfurt’s passenger airlines will reach 3,980, nearly a 4.6% decrease from last year, while the number of all-cargo flights will drop by about 2.6% to 220 departures per week. Frankfurt will offer 85 all-cargo destinations in 47 countries.
