Choice Hotels International has opened Hotel de Point, a boutique hotel in Flushing, Queens, New York. The hotel is the newest addition to the Ascend Hotel Collection, a network of over 75 upscale independent hotels open or under development in the U.S., Canada, Costa Rica, Scandinavia, and the Caribbean.

The 114 rooms have muted grey, cream, and white colors, with brightly colored floor-to-ceiling wall art of nature-inspired designs. There are custom furnishings that include white marble-top bedside tables, leather armchairs, and minibars with refrigerators.

The beds have matching leather headboards and pillow-top mattresses with triple sheeting and white duvets. Other features include complimentary Wi-Fi Internet, 46″ flat-screen TVs, self-closing drawers and cabinets, a Keurig coffeemaker, and a choice of down or hypoallergenic pillows. The bathrooms have white marble walls and floors and rain showerheads.

The lobby features Italian marble floors and a 20-foot Italian marble reception desk, as well as a contemporary fireplace composed of glass rocks, with jazz music and waterfall sounds. There is a central garden area and white sofas, along with a “living wall,” which has cutouts holding a vase and fresh flower with soft LED spotlights.

Housed in a century-old building, Hotel de Point is located less than ten minutes from LaGuardia Airport, and less than three miles from Citi Field. The hotel also offers complimentary shuttle service to the train station less than two miles away.
