American Airlines announced a new entrée reservations program for first and business class passengers. The airline’s new program makes it the first domestic airline to offer premium class (first and business class) customers the opportunity to review menu options and pre-select a meal prior to departure.

Customers traveling in first and business class on flights between JFK and LAX, as well as on flights between Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport and New York LaGuardia Airport, will now have the option to view and select their meal prior to take off. On November 15, 2012, the program will be extended to include customers on flights between JFK and San Francisco International Airport, as well as flights between Chicago O’Hare and LAX, Chicago O’Hare and LaGuardia, and Dallas/Fort Worth and LAX. American plans to extend the program to all domestic flights by early 2013, and to all international flights by the second quarter of that year.

Once first or business class customers have purchased their tickets, they can visit anywhere from 30 days to one day before their flight, and go to the “View Reservation” page. There, customers can click on the “Entree Reservations” link, and select their desired meal.
