Alaska Airlines Launches Service Between San Diego and Orlando

Alaska Airlines launched nonstop service between San Diego, California and Orlando, Florida. The new service will operate five times a week.

Flights are scheduled to depart San Diego at 10:35 p.m., and arrive in Orlando at 6:30 a.m., and will operate Thursday through Monday. Flights from Orlando to San Diego will operate Friday through Tuesday, and will depart at 8:05 a.m., and arrive at 10:40 a.m.

The new flights will operate using Boeing 737-800 aircraft, and will offer Alaska Airlines’ Northern Bites meal service, which gives passengers the choice of a hot meal for $6 or a cheese and fruit platter for $7. The flights will also offer over 70 movies, along with television programs and other entertainment for free in first class, and for $10 in the main cabin.

Through November 15, 2012, members of Alaska Airlines’ Mileage Plan are eligible to earn double miles on flights between San Diego and Orlando.
