AKA to Open New Properties in Los Angeles and London
AKA, a luxury brand of serviced residences, will open two new properties this fall in London and Los Angeles. The fully furnished and high-design suite properties will be available for guests staying 30 or more days in either city.
AKA Beverly Hills of Los Angeles will cater to celebrities, upscale consumers, and affluent international travelers. Located a few blocks from Rodeo Drive, the property will feature 88 fully-furnished one- and two- bedroom suites and townhouses, which will range from 850 to 1,800 square feet. The rooms will feature Molten Brown bath amenities, private balconies in most residences, flat screen TVs, iPod docking stations, and premium cable. There will be a fitness center as well as specially landscaped, residents-only elevated terrace, which will offer views of the Hollywood sign. Rates will start at approximately $400 per night for suites, and $600 per night for penthouse accommodations.
In London, AKA West End will cater primarily to entertainment industry insiders, as well as international and business travelers. Located in the Marylebone area, the property will feature nine contemporary AKA residences that are being transformed from an original 1920s property. The residences will be studio and one- and two-bedrooms, and will feature bespoke furniture, gourmet kitchens with grey lacquer cabinetry, charcoal Caesarstone counter tops stainless-steel appliances, and full marble baths. Each suite will also include washers and dryers, complimentary Sky TV, complimentary wireless Internet, and local telephone service.
The property will also include an interior sculpture garden, dedicated concierge services, housekeeping Monday through Friday, and business services. There will also be a Mews House, an exclusive two-bedroom, two-bathroom home including a private garage and study, and chauffeured transportation to and from the airport will be available upon request to all guests. Rates will start at approximately £290 per night for suites, and £790 per night for the Mews House.
A division of Korman Communities, AKA currently provides locations in Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., Arlington, Virginia, and four in New York City, and the company plans to add six to ten properties in the next three to five years. The two new venues in Los Angeles and London will be the eighth and ninth AKA properties worldwide.
