What Are Your Top Frequent Flyer Award Redemption Pet Peeves?
One of the perks of being a frequent flyer is that you accumulate tens of thousands of miles or points that can then be redeemed for air travel (for a vacation for you and perhaps a loved one, or an entire family). Sadly, flying is no longer the glamorous excursion as depicted in the cinema; it’s work, and for many it’s part of a daily or weekly routine, akin to crossing the street.
So you have 564,728 miles and you want to redeem them for a business-class trip for you and three friends from New York to Paris on a specific date. This should be a routine matter but, as more and more are discovering, redeeming miles is sometimes fraught with peril, so much so that an entire cottage industry has developed around booking awards for travelers who don’t know how to work the system.
While you probably know your way around the rules and the booking engine, there are still a few things that may bug you.

This is the third in a series of pet peeves polls that will also look at restaurants, technology and other aspects of the travel experience.
