Virgin America Expands Service to Palm Springs

Virgin America has announced that it will expand its service to Palm Springs from both San Francisco and New York. The airline’s new seasonal flight schedule includes a new weekly Saturday flight, as well as the first, nonstop flight from New York City to Palm Springs.

The new service will go into effect starting Saturday, December 22, 2012, with a departure time of 10:55 a.m. from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport and an arrival time of 2:00 p.m. at Palm Springs International Airport. Eastbound flights will depart Palm Springs at 2:00 p.m. and arrive in New York at10:45 p.m. Beginning in January, new nonstop flights from San Francisco International Airport to Palm Springs will also begin.

Virgin America’s fleet offers amenities such as fleetwide Wi-Fi, power outlets, and personal entertainment including 25 movies, live TV, Google Maps, videogames, seat-to-seat chat, music videos, and a 4,000 song library. Tickets for the new service are now on sale and may be purchased at www.virginamerica.com and 1-877-FLY-VIRGIN, with fares starting at $79 for San Francisco service, and $149 for New York.
