Qatar Airways has brought in four renowned chefs to create a new in-flight dining experience. Among them are Chef Ramzi Choueiri, Chef Vineet Bhatia, Chef Tom Aikens, and Chef Nobu Matsuhisa. The chefs were introduced at an international press conference in Doha, Qatar Airways’ hub city, where they gave a live cooking demonstration of some of their favorite dishes.

Chef Ramzi Choueiri is a Lebanese chef whose daily live television cooking show reaches over 10 million viewers. Chef Vineet Bhati, the only Indian chef to have won two Michelin stars, is the second member of the team. The third member, Chef Tom Aikens, is known for being the youngest British chef to be awarded two Michelin stars for combining British and French influences. The final chef is Chef Nobu Matsuhisa, who has built a reputation for blending traditional Japanese cuisine with South American ingredients, and earned two Michelin stars in the process.

In each chef’s dishes, flavors, textures, aromas, taste, and arrangements were all taken into account, as well as adapting to how customers’ taste buds are altered at 35,000 feet and what food types are most suitable on long-haul flights. The new menus have been rolled out on select flights to and from Doha International Airport, and will be available to passengers onboard Qatar Airways’ new Boeing 787 Dreamliner when it starts service in the coming months.
