Emirates Launches Daily Nonstop Service Between Washington Dulles and Dubai
Emirates Airline launched daily nonstop service between Washington Dulles International Airport and Dubai International Airport on September 12, 2012. Dulles is the seventh gateway for Emirates in the United States, and the 12th new route that the airline has added to its international network this year.
The new service uses Boeing 777-200 LR aircraft, aboard which passengers are offered private suites in First Class and lie-flat beds in Business Class, SMS, telephone, and email service at every seat, and 1,400 channels of in-flight entertainment. Daily flights are scheduled to leave Dubai at 2:20 a.m. and arrive at Dulles at 8:50 a.m., and depart from Dulles at 10:55 a.m. and arrive in Dubai at 8:00 a.m. the following day.
Passengers aboard the September 12 inaugural flight from Dubai included Tim Clark, president of Emirates Airline; Adel Al Redha, executive vice president of engineering and operations; Michael Corbin, U.S. Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates; Francisco Sanchez, U.S. under secretary of commerce for international trade; Orhan Abbas, senior vice president of commercial operations for the Americas; and Pradeep Kumar, senior vice president of revenue optimization and systems for Emirates SkyCargo.
