For the first time, the Alamo Rent A Car and National Car Rental brands will be available to customers in Brazil. Five Brazilian airports now have Alamo and National locations. The new branches have opened at Guarulhos International Airport in Sao Paulo, Galeao Antonio Carlos Jobim International Airport in Rio de Janeiro, Tancredo Neves/Confins International Airport in Belo Horizonte, Brasilia International Airport in Brasilia, and Salgado Filho International Airport in Porto Alegre.

The new locations are part of a 15-year franchise agreement between Enterprise Holdings, the owner and operator of Alamo and National, and Unidas, a Sao Paulo-based Brazilian car rental company. The deal will bring the Alamo and National brands to more than 100 Unidas airport and city locations throughout Brazil by March 2013, and will see Unidas operate as the two brands’ franchise partner in the locations.

Enterprise Holdings is the largest car rental service provider in the world, and operates over 1 million vehicles through its regional subsidiaries. The company’s overseas operations include Enterprise Rent-A-Car in the U.K., Germany and Ireland, franchise agreements for National and Alamo in the Americas, the recently acquired French company Citer SA, and investments in China-based eHi Auto Services.
