Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide announced plans to expand its hotel portfolio throughout Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States over the next three years. During this time, Starwood will more than double its portfolio in the region with the addition of seven new hotels, including the new Aloft St. Petersburg, the first of the Aloft brand to be opened in Russia.

Also opening in the region will be the Sheraton Kiev, Olympiysky, in Ukraine in 2013, which will be located in central Kiev at Troitskaya Square. A new Sheraton hotel in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, and Starwood’s 10-story Sheraton Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport, both also opening in 2013, round out Starwood’s additions in the region for that year.

Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide is a global company with 1,112 properties in nearly 100 countries, and operates brands that include Aloft, Element, Le Méridien, Sheraton and Four Points by Sheraton, St. Regis, and Westin.
