Ritz-Carlton Opens First Hotel in Austria
Ritz-Carlton has opened its first hotel in Austria, in the capital city of Vienna. The Ritz-Carlton, Vienna has 202 rooms and is located on the storied Ringstraße, a boulevard that encircles the inner city. The hotel is walking distance of Vienna’s museums, concert halls, and historic buildings.
The interior of the hotel contains decorative mural paintings, intricate wood carvings, and a marble staircase. Dining options include the Dstrikt restaurant, which offers Austrian cuisine cooked with local produce by chef Wini Brugger and is open throughout the day, Atmosphere, a rooftop bar, and Melounge, a café located next to the lobby. Melounge is a play on words for Melange, short for Wiener Melange, a Viennese coffee similar to a cappuccino.
The hotel has numerous meeting and event venues including the 300 square meter (984 square foot) Crystal Ballroom, two boardrooms, and three function rooms. The hotel also has an 18 meter (59 foot) indoor pool, fitness room, sauna, and steam rooms, along with six treatment rooms that are part of the Guerlain Spa.
