Lexus Announces the 2013 LS Lineup
The 2013 LS series includes the LS 460, the LS 460L, LS 600hL hybrid, and the new LS 460 F Sport. Both the LS 460 and LS 460L are available in both RWD and AWD models, while the LS 600hL hybrid features a full-time AWD package.
The exterior redesign includes a bolder grille, while the body rigidity improvements lend the car greater stability. The cars also offer new frequency dependent shock absorbers, improved steering, and more responsive brakes.
The new LS also offers Lexus’ Pre-Collision Safety system with Collision Avoidance Assist, which, when driving under 24 miles per hour, will bring the car to a full stop in order to avoid accidents.
The car’s interior features Lexus’ Advanced Illumination System (AIS), a fully LED light system, and Lexus Climate Concierge that allows each passenger to adjust individual temperatures. A 12.3” screen displays a navigation system and other vehicle information.
Remote Touch is standard on all LS models and allows the user to operate climate, audio, phone, navigation, and other controls from a control located on the center console, as well as buttons on the steering wheel and instrument panel.
The new LS 460 F Sport model features a redesigned exterior, as well as F Sport seats with larger bolsters than the standard models, a leather-wrapped steering wheel with paddle shifters, and aluminum trim. The Sport also has a sport-tuned air suspension, Brembo six-piston caliper brakes, 19” forged wheels (with either summer or all-season tires), and a Torsen limited slip rear differential (in the RWD model).
Other new features and technologies in the LS include Drive Mode Select with three standard drive settings (Eco, Normal, and Sport) and five (including Comfort and Sport S+ ) in air suspension models, Automatic High Beam system, and an optional Mark Levinson Reference Surround sound system.
