Intel and W Hotels Partner to Sponsor Film Competition

Fabulous room at W Hotel Union Square, NYCCalifornia chipmaker Intel and New York-based W Hotels International announced the Four Stories short film competition. The new competition asks amateur filmmakers to submit original screenplays that take place in W Hotels properties and demonstrate the use of Intel’s Ultrabooks while traveling.

Four Stories is part of Intel’s Ultrabook Experience program which features innovative and creative uses for the ultra portable notebooks running on Intel’s Ultrabook chipsets. The Ultrabook Experience campaign launched in early in 2012 to highlight the travel, film, business, and design capabilities of the devices.

Three screenplays will be selected by a panel of industry leaders, with the writers then having the opportunity to work with Roman Coppola of The Directors Bureau to produce their 10 minute short film for the big screen. In addition to Coppola, the selection panel will consist of representatives from Intel, W Hotels, Vimeo, VICE, and William Morris Endeavor, as well as several actors and screenwriters. Roman Coppola will write and direct the fourth and final short film in the series.

Screenplays may be submitted through August 30 at and the finished products will premiere at red carpet events at select W Hotels, the brand’s social media channels, and in-room entertainment systems, as well as The Ultrabook Experience website.
