Next year, British Airways will launch a new route from London Gatwick to the capital city of Colombo in Sri Lanka. The new route will use a Boeing 777 and be operated three times a week. The Boeing 777 contains three cabins, including Club World and its fully flat beds.

Flights will take just over 12 and a half hours and will operate through Male in the Maldives. Tickets are now on sale, with service beginning on March 31, 2013. British Airways also offers various hotels that can be booked together with flight tickets.

According to British Airways, the UK has the second largest number of tourists visiting Sri Lanka, after India.
