American Express announced two transfer bonus offers for its Membership Rewards program.

The first is a 40% bonus on transfers of Membership Rewards points to British Airways Executive Club accounts.  For every 1,000 points transferred, you will receive 1,400 Avios (the currency of BA’s Executive Club).

Avios can be used to book flights on British Airways or on any oneworld partner and this offer is good through September 27, 2012.

The second is a 30% bonus on transfers of Membership Rewards points to Virgin America’s Elevate frequent flyer program.  For every 200 points transferred, you will receive 130 Elevate points instead of the normal rate of 100.  This bonus offer is good through September 2, 2012.  Elevate members can redeem points on Virgin America, Virgin Atlantic, and Virgin Australia flights. The three airlines linked their frequent flyer programs programs earlier this year.
