Marriott Executive Apartments Panama City, Finisterre, Panama – Hotel Review

As soon as we pulled up in front of the Marriott Executive Apartments, in the pleasant, leafy Bella Vista section of Panama City, Panama, doormen were car-side, opening doors and taking our bags. After a quick, friendly check-in in the airy, sunlit lobby, I was led up the elevator to my room.

My studio apartment was spacious and open, with modern furnishings, hardwood floors, and sweeping views of the city. (One- and two-bedroom apartments are also available.) A full kitchenette in a bright small corner room was outfitted with a refrigerator, stove, and microwave. The main room was furnished with a comfortable king bed flanked by nightstands, as well as a flat-screen TV, an iPod docking station, a round dining table with four chairs, an L-shaped sofa, and a coffee table.

Guests have access to a self-service laundry room (one on each floor), and 24-hour room service is also available.

A partition separated a working area featuring a large desk unit with several drawers and cabinets, and a desk chair that was neither wheeled nor ergonomic, but well-padded. On the wall abutting the desk were easily accessible electrical outlets, and a deep easy chair was to the left side of the desk.

Complimentary Wi-Fi was trouble-free both in-room and in public spaces. The hotel has four meeting and event rooms with a total of 1292 square feet (394 square meters) of space.

For me, one of the highlights of the hotel was swimming in the outdoor rooftop pool at night.  The water was warm and inviting, and I was surrounded by the lights of the city, with the inky black sky above speckled with stars. Adjacent to the pool, a small fitness center was being expanded during my stay in late May.

I enjoyed beautifully prepared, delicious, fresh seafood, top-notch service, and an excellent selection of wines at Adegas, the hotel’s restaurant. The menu reflects local influences, and its décor resembles that of a wine cellar, with bottles lining several walls. With its low-key atmosphere, Adegas is the perfect spot for a breakfast, lunch, or dinner meeting.

Well-suited for both short and extended stays, Marriott Executive Apartments are also well-situated in Panama City near a number of financial services companies and embassies. Staff members were warm, welcoming, and eager to assist, and accommodations were comfortable and modern, with all the necessary technology to work and conduct business remotely.
