American Airlines Opens New International Arrivals Facility in Miami
The three-level structure is double the size of the previous space, and is accessible through the Terminal D skytrain. It features 72 passport control lanes capable of processing 2,000 passengers an hour. In addition, there are six Global Entry lanes for passengers who have registered for the program.
The second level of new building includes a new baggage claim area that facilitates access exits to either connecting flights, or the first level’s lobby and exit.
American Airlines expects the new facilities to cut processing wait times by 15 minutes. The carrier currently flies to more than 65 international destinations from the Miami airport.
