United Airlines has added its first route to Turkey with daily nonstop service between Newark Liberty International Airport and Istanbul’s Ataturk International Airport.

The eastbound flight will leave Newark daily at 7:27 p.m. and arrive in Istanbul at 12:20 p.m. the next day. The return flight will leave Istanbul at 1:55 p.m. and arrive at Newark at 6:02 p.m. the same day.

The route will first be serviced by a standard Boeing 767-300 aircraft (183 seats) before switching over to a reconfigured 767-300  (214 seats) later this summer.

United Airlines’ MileagePlus members are eligible to earn double miles when flying the new route by booking and completing travel by September 30, 2012.
