Samsung Galaxy S III Smartphone Coming Soon
Samsung announced the Samsung Galaxy S III. The new Android 4.0 smartphone will launch later this month on AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless, and U.S. Cellular. The smartphone will be optimized for each carrier’s 4G LTE or HSPA+ 42 network.
The Samsung Galaxy S III is 8.6 mm thin and features a 4.8″ Super Amoled (active-matrix organic light-emitting diode) display, Snapdragon 1.5 GHz dual core processor, and 2 GB of internal RAM. The device comes with either 16 GB or 32 GB expandable onboard memory, and a removable 2100 mAh battery. The main camera is eight megapixels, and the front-facing camera is 1.9 megapixels with support for video recording and chat.
Additional interesting features include the ability to share files between devices by touching them together, voice control of applications via S-Voice, eye tracking to dim brightness when the phone is not being looked at, and the ability to switch between a text and a phone call via motion controls.
Although the Samsung Galaxy S III will maintain consistent branding across all carriers (a first for Samsung), each carrier will release the device with slight modifications such as color, extra network-specific features, and data plans.
