Google Offers and Boingo Bring Free Wi-Fi to NYC

NYC's Penn stationBoingo Wireless announced that it is partnering with Google Offers to provide free Wi-Fi in six Manhattan subway stations and at over 200 existing Boingo Hotzones.

The New York City Wi-Fi hotspots are available free for use from June 25 through September 7. Subway stations with coverage include the A, C, E, and L stations at Eighth Ave and West 14th Street; the C and E stations at Eighth Ave and West 23rd Street; and the 1, 2, 3, L, and M stations at Sixth Ave and West 14th Street.

Google Offers is the first sponsor of Boingo Wi-Fi in New York subway stations. By the end of the year, Boingo expects to have expanded its coverage to over 36 stations in New York City, and in the next five years the company intends to cover every station in the city.
