El Al Adds Economy Class Plus Service

El Al Boeing 747-400El Al has launched a new Economy Class Plus service, which features more legroom, more seat recline, and preferred seating within the economy cabin.

Other features of the Economy Class Plus include an amenities kit (with eyeshades, socks, earplugs, toothpaste and a toothbrush), a pillow and blanket, a wider seat cushion, a footrest, and a privacy curtain. El Al also plans to install electrical outlets at every seat by the end of the year.

Economy Class Plus seating can now be booked for travel beginning July 1 on any Boeing 747-400 flights between Israel and JFK or Newark. The upgrade from Economy to Economy Class Plus is $150 each way. El Al will also offer Economy Class Plus on its Boeing 777 aircraft in the future.

Top Platinum, Platinum, and Gold members of Matmid (El Al’s frequent flyer program) will receive a free Economy Class Plus seat when purchasing an economy class ticket. A Top Platinum members’ travel companion in economy class will also get a free upgrade to Economy Class Plus.
