The Steigenberger Hotel Group has announced that it will begin operating three luxury cruise ships on the Nile River and Lake Nasser in Egypt.

Beginning in October, the cruises will offer the luxury experience of a Steigenberger hotel while floating on the Egyptian waters. The Steigenberger Minerva and Steigenberger Legacy will operate on the Nile, while the Omar El Khayam will ply the waters of Lake Nasser. The Nile cruises, between Luxor and Aswan, will be available in three, four, and seven night trips. The Lake Nasser cruise will offer the same option, and travel between Aswan and Abu Simbel. Each ship will have 70 to 80 cabins, restaurants, and pools.

Travcotels, a Cairo-based company that boasts of 20 cruise ships and the largest such provider in the country, will operate the ships.

Steigenberger Hotels AG, based in Frankfurt, also runs hotels in Hurghada, Luxor, and El Gouna.
