Lufthansa has announced that, starting today, customers can book travel on routes flying its Boeing 747-8 Intercontinental.

Beginning June 1, Lufthansa will fly the 747-8 on the Frankfurt-Washington route six times a week. Over the next few months, as the carrier receives four additional 747-8s, new routes will be added. By the end of the summer, Lufthansa will be operating the 747-8 on flights to Delhi, Bangalore, Chicago, and Los Angeles.

As the 747-8 joins Lufthansa’s fleet, passengers will also be able to enjoy the carrier’s new business class. The new business class offers redesigned seats (that convert to lie-flat beds at the press of a button), additional storage space, and an enhanced entertainment system.
