Virgin America has announced that, starting June 5,  it will begin daily service to Portland International Airport with two-non-stops daily flights from Los Angeles International Airport and one non-stop daily from San Francisco International Airport.  Portland will be Virgin America’s eighteenth destination.

The airline is introducing the new routes with a fare sale.  Prices start at $99 for PDX-SFO or PDX-LAX.  Tickets are now available for purchase at www.virginamerica.com.

Virgin America is also holding a contest to name its fiftieth aircraft.  Everyone is invited to submit Portland-themed plane names via Facebook and other social media tools for the aircraft, which will join the airline’s fleet in April. The winner will receive two roundtrip flights on the new Portland route, and the winning name will grace the side of a new Virgin America Airbus A320.
